Gaurai Khela is a global cultural movement dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich traditions of Maharashtra by bringing the beloved Mangalagauri Khels to communities around the world. This immersive event offers an opportunity for people of all ages to experience the joy of traditional games, folk dances, music, cultural storytelling, and community celebrations in an engaging and welcoming environment.
The event features a vibrant lineup of activities, including traditional Mangalagauri Khels and dance workshops, a recreation of the Maharashtrian wedding celebration "Tadev Lagnam with Lavanyavati," the Saree Mahotsav showcasing Bay Area vendors and live weavers, cooking and group competitions, shopping stalls, saree draping and styling stations, and authentic Maharashtrian snacks and dinner.
Guests are also invited to participate in the Mangalagauri Pooja and Katha before joining an evening filled with performances, interactive workshops, and cultural festivities. Whether you are reconnecting with your roots or discovering Maharashtrian traditions for the first time, Gaurai Khela™ offers a memorable celebration of heritage, culture, and community.
