39 Dead in Stampede at Tamil Actor Vijay’s Political Rally

A tragic stampede at Tamil actor Vijay’s political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, left 39 people dead, including children, and over 50 injured. Police have registered a criminal case against senior leaders of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. The incident occurred as the crowd far exceeded the permitted limit of 10,000.
