Exclusive Interview with Vibha Bakshi, filmmaker

February 2024 839 views 8:15

In this exclusive Interview with India Abroad, Vibha Bakshi, a award winning Indian filmmaker, journalist and founder of Responsible Films talks about her journey of film making and the subject of gender inequality and gender bias and her latest film Son Rise.

"The most important message that we are giving out of Son Rise, is actually I'm not, it's the heroes of my friend who are, is that women are not looking for protection. We are looking for allyship. And this is something that the men have shown," she tells India Abroad in her interview in Boston where she is attended the annual India Conference at Harvard.

Her most notable films as both director and producer are Daughters of Mother India and Son Rise. Both are winners of the National Film Awards.

Notably she is the recipient of four National Film Awards.
