Rishad Choudhury, 2015 Cornell University PhD in history, and a current associate professor at Oberlin College, has received the Bernard S. Cohn Prize (First book on South Asia) for "Hajj Across Empires: Pilgrimage and Political Cultures After the Mughals, 1739-1857" from the Association for Asian Studies.

The Bernard S. Cohn Book Prize recognizes outstanding and innovative scholarship across disciplines and countries of specialization for a first single-authored English-language monograph on South Asia, published during the preceding year.
