Trump Hints at More Secondary Sanctions After Imposing 50% Tariff on Indian Imports

Trump’s remarks come amid growing trade tensions and geopolitical manoeuvring, with India expressing concern over the abrupt escalation in tariffs.

Just hours after signing an executive order that raised tariffs on Indian imports to a steep 50 per cent, U.S. President Donald Trump on Aug.6 signalled that more secondary sanctions could be imposed on other countries, including China.

At a press conference in Washington, Trump was asked whether similar tariff actions were being considered against China. “Could happen, could happen. It depends on how we do, it could happen,” he replied.
