The Embassy of India Tehran has released a statement as part of a travel advisory for Indian nationals with plans of a trip to Iran, mentioning that these individuals should ‘carefully consider the evolving situation’ before undertaking non-essential travel to the Middle East country.
The statement from the Embassy of India Tehran that was issued amid further deterioration of the security situation in Iran, read,
“In view of the security-related developments over the past several weeks, Indian nationals are advised to carefully consider the evolving situation before undertaking non-essential travel to Iran.”
“They are also advised to continue to monitor the latest regional developments, and follow updated advisories issued by the Indian authorities.”

The statement also addressed Indians who are currently in Iran and added,
“Indian nationals already in Iran, and interested in leaving, may avail the commercial flight and ferry options which are available right now.”
Following the Embassy’s advisory, several Indian airlines, including Indigo and Air India, also released statements mentioning disruptions in their respective scheduled flight.
While mentioning that development is beyond the airline company’s control, Indigo wrote,
“Due to the sudden airspace closure by Iran, some of our international flights are impacted. Our teams are working diligently to assess the situation and support affected customers by offering the best possible alternatives.”
Air India, meanwhile, also alerted its passengers in a similar statement, which read,
“Air India flights overflying the region are now using an alternative routing, which may lead to delays. Some Air India flights where currently rerouting is not possible are being cancelled.”
The Embassy has also advised Indian nations, including students, pilgrims, business persons and tourists, currently in Iran, to leave the country by available means of transport.
