The videos of an Indian restaurant, ‘Curry Corner’, distributing free samosas to protesters in an anti-ICE rally in Minnesota have gone viral, and netizens have shared mixed reactions about the gesture.

The footage comes amid ongoing protests across Minnesota against operations by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The situation escalated further following the death of two U.S. citizens at the hands of federal agents, Minneapolis nurse Alex Pretti last week, and Minnesota mother Renee Nicole Good earlier this month.

The viral videos saw a range of different opinions, with some users claiming that such gestures promote the anti-India rhetoric among Americans, while some hailed the hospitality of Indians and their culture.

‘Curry Corner,’ a small Indian eatery in Northeast Minneapolis, announced on Instagram that it was temporarily suspending its dining facilities due to safety concerns amid the Trump administration's crackdown.

However, despite being officially closed, the restaurant's staff decided to contribute and help protestors on the streets. Videos shared online show employees offering samosas and warm meals to anti-ICE demonstrators.

The restaurant also shared a message on social media mentioning their initiative and wrote,

“Today, Curry Corner is standing with our community. We will be out supporting the protest at the corner of 3rd Street & E. Hennepin Ave. This is about unity, protection, and showing up for our people. If you’re in the area, come stand with us.”

Curry Comer also mentioned that its closure has led to financial strains on the family-run business and shared that they had started a GoFundMe campaign to support their staff during the shutdown.

The fundraiser has collected over $39,500.

ILLLEGAL is just like it sounds and means. Indians want Rohingyas out. Americans want "illegals out".

As for PROTESTORS. If they impede policing operations or normal flow of life, they are illegal and must be arrested. Unfortunately, Minnesotan local politicians have forgotten their obligations and only scream for cooperation when it comes to federal dollars.
