Indian-origin lawmakers criticise DHS funding push / X and Wikipedia
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a short-term funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), further intensifying a weeks-long political deadlock that has left the agency partially shut down.
The Republican-led House approved the stopgap measure to extend DHS funding into May, aiming to reopen key operations. However, the move comes amid a prolonged shutdown that began in mid-February following disagreements over immigration enforcement policies and federal funding priorities.
