Hindu advocacy groups condemn Bondi Beach incident

Hindu advocacy groups condemned the terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach during Hanukkah celebrations, expressing solidarity with the Jewish community and calling for unity against hate, extremism and violence.
In a statement shared on social media, Hindu Council Australia said it was “deeply shocked and heartbroken” by the violence, describing an attack on people celebrating their faith as “an attack on humanity itself.”

Expressing solidarity with the victims, their families and the Jewish community, the organization stressed that Australia must remain a place where people can practice their faith without fear.
“We stand united against hate, extremism, and violence in all forms,” the council said, concluding the message with a call for peace.
The Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) also condemned the attack in a post on X, calling the incident “horrific” and saying such violence has no place in society. The organization said it stood with Hindu Council Australia in condemning the attack against the Jewish community in Australia.

The incident, which claimed 16 lives,heightened concerns over the safety of faith-based gatherings and comes amid broader discussions in Australia around hate crimes, extremism and the protection of religious communities.
