Indian classical dancer Ramya Harishankar will headline the 40th anniversary celebration performance of California based dance group, Donna Sternberg & Dancers, on Nov. 8 and 9.
Harishankar is the artistic director of the Arpana Dance Company (ADC) and School, a premier school of Bharata Natyam in California and the United States.
She was recently honored as a ‘Legacy Artist’ by the California Arts Council and recognized as a ‘Distinguished Citizen’ by the City of Irvine. She was also selected for its Wall of Recognition for her cultural contributions.

Harishankar will be seen performing at Donna Sternberg & Dancers' show, titled, ‘Thriving,’ a performance honoring the creativity and endurance of mature choreographers and dancers in the Los Angeles community.
While performative arts like dance is often considered to be a young-person's avenue, with experienced artists switching to either teaching dance or leaving that world entirely, 'Thriving' seeks to honor the creative vitality of seasoned artists and the stories that continue to shape our cultural landscape.
With performances by Jeff Slayton, Oguri, and Donna Sternberg, apart from Harishankar, 'Thriving' testifies to the wonders of the human body, the endurance of the human spirit, and the humanity that binds us together."
