FIA organizes Free Community Health Camp in Burlington

The health camp is being organized in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the Republic Day of India.

Foundation of Indian-Americans [FIA] – New England, in collaboration with its nonprofit and healthcare partners, will be holding a Free Community Health Camp on Jan. 17, at the Academy of Creative Arts, 12 A St, Burlington, MA 01803, starting at 10:00 a.m.

FIA believes this is a significant step toward community well-being, and the health camp is being organized in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Republic Day of India, reflecting the shared values of service, equality, and community upliftment.

The event is open to all and will be conducted free of cost, with no requirement for insurance.

One of the key highlights of the camp will be a Free Vision Care Program, during which 1,000 prescription reading glasses will be distributed on the spot to needy individuals.

This initiative is being facilitated in collaboration with nonprofit partners RestoringVision and Jatan Foundation, aiming to improve vision health and quality of life for underserved community members.

In addition to vision screening, the camp will offer a wide range of free health services, including General health screenings, Dental and vision checks, Mental health counseling, Diabetes and heart disease awareness, Nutrition and fitness guidance, Flu shots, and vaccine information.

The camp will also include Immigration medical examination guidance (I-693), Insurance assistance (MassHealth), Resources for seniors and immigrants, and Estate planning consultations (wills and trusts).

Healthcare professionals from various specialties will be volunteering their time and expertise, reinforcing the spirit of “Service Above Self” and community care.

The event is supported by multiple community and healthcare partners, including Happy Life Adult Day Health, Jatan Foundation, The Treasury, My Special Legal Planning (MSLP), RestoringVision, Lynn Urgent Care, and Woburn Urgent Care.

Organizers have stated that the objective of this initiative is to connect the community with proficient doctors while honoring the dedication of healthcare professionals who continue to serve humanity with compassion and commitment.

The Free Health Camp is expected to make a meaningful impact by improving access to healthcare and promoting preventive wellness within the community.
