A classical and semi-classical concert was organized by Mustafa Ajmeri, Global Entertainment & Media Services on May 26 in Atlanta, in memory of Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi.

The concert featured numerous crowd-pleasing classical and semi-classical performances / Mustafa Ajmeri

Dr. Monica Shah, a former disciple of Girija Devi, kicked off the concert with ‘Bada Khayal’ in Raga Yaman. During the course of her performance, she sang various classical and semi classical songs including ‘Aali Re Mere Nainan’, a Mira Bhajana and the semi-classical Tappa in Raga Kafi.

Dr. Shah was accompanied by Ashfaq Khan on tabla and Manish Vyas on harmonium.
