A new research from Stop AAPI Hate reveals that anti-Asian slurs remain widespread and are increasingly visible in both online spaces and daily life. The group’s analysis, released in September 2025, points to a sharp rise in the use of racial insults targeting Asian communities.

The report cites data from Moonshot, which tracks extremist spaces online. Between January 2023 and July 2025, the use of anti-Asian slurs in these spaces grew by 40 percent. According to the findings, just five slurs accounted for 90 percent of all occurrences. The top three made up 84 percent of usage.
