AAPI Equity Alliance is organizing a demonstration to appeal for support in favour of the Election Rigging Response Act, on Oct. 6, at the Chinese American Museum.
The Act is a California constitutional amendment on the Nov. 4, 2025, ballot, allowing the state legislature to redraw congressional maps for 2026 to counter alleged Republican gerrymandering in states like Texas. It aims to protect Democratic House control while restoring the independent redistricting commission’s authority by 2031.
Organized in collaboration with Chinese for Affirmative Action, Asian American elected officials and community leaders in Los Angeles, the event seeks to "fight back against Donald Trump’s unprecedented attacks on democracy," as per a statement by AAPI Equity alliance.
