A multicultural celebration marking AAPI heritage and the United States’ 250th anniversary was held in Stafford, Texas, on May 8, bringing together community organizations, cultural performers and dignitaries, including Consul General D.C. Manjunath.
The event, titled “Together We Shine: An AAPI Multicultural Celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary,” was hosted by the City of Stafford, Asia Society Texas Center and the Asian Chamber of Commerce.
Organizers said the program focused on unity, cultural harmony and the shared values connecting diverse communities across the United States. The evening featured cultural performances representing different AAPI communities.

The celebration was presented as part of broader efforts to recognize the contributions of AAPI communities while commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
Organizers said the event reflected “the spirit of friendship and collaboration among communities.” They added that the program sought to bring people together through cultural exchange and performances representing different traditions within the AAPI community.
As part of the event, attendees also had the opportunity to enter a drawing for four round-trip airline tickets from Houston to Tokyo, Taipei, Manila or Singapore. The tickets were donated by the Asian Chamber of Commerce, and organizers said theater tickets served as entries for the drawing.
