Damanveer Singh Grewal, an Indian-origin cosmochemist, is studying meteorites to understand how the earliest building blocks of the solar system shaped planets like Earth and determined their capacity to support life.

Grewal joined Yale University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences in July 2025 as an assistant professor of Earth and planetary sciences. He also leads the CosmoGeo lab, where his research focuses on the formation of rocky, potentially habitable planets and the origins of their chemical makeup.
