Director S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, a newly remastered single-part version of the two-part saga, is releasing globally today on Oct. 31 after early international premieres on Oct. 29. The nearly three-hour, 44-minute film, featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty, has been re-edited and formatted for IMAX and other large-screen experiences.

The release marks the 10th anniversary of the 'Baahubali' franchise, which first became a global box office phenomenon. Audiences attending early screenings in the United States and the United Kingdom described the new cut as “nostalgic” and “a wild cinematic ride,” calling it a “must-see” for fans of the original.

One viewer posted on X, “No matter how many times you’ve seen Baahubali, this single-part, edited version keeps the experience thrilling and worth your time and money. It feels fresh as if it’s a brand-new film.” Another wrote, “An epic retold, a classic reborn! This new edit keeps the magic alive and fresh—cinema goals on repeat.”

A user attending a U.K. screening noted, “Yesterday I watched ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ in the UK and saw at least 10–15 locals in the cinema. I’ve never seen any gora in any Indian movie in all these years, but yesterday I did. Rajamouli is really taking our Indian cinema international and his work shows it.”

Animated project teased

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda confirmed that a 3D animated continuation of the Baahubali universe has been in development for more than two years, with a budget of about Rs. 120 crore, nearly matching the scale of Baahubali: The Beginning.

The series is being animated by Fortiche, the studio known for Netflix’s Arcane, and directed by filmmaker Ishan Shukla. Writers Deva Katta, Madhan Karki, Sowya Sharma and Vinay Varanani are part of the creative team, with M. M. Keeravaani composing the music.

American-Canadian producer Scott Mosier and Prasad Bheemineni are jointly producing the project.
