U.S. lawmakers join India trip to press trade, security ties

Members of Congress stressed that a closer relationship is essential not only for both countries but for the wider international community.

A delegation of US lawmakers visited India this month to strengthen economic and security cooperation, holding talks with senior government officials, academics, and business leaders in New Delhi, Agra, and Mumbai.

Discussions ranged from tariffs and trade deals to H-1B visas and regional tensions, underscoring Washington’s push to deepen its partnership with New Delhi, according to a media release issued on Sept. 30.
