President Donald Trump’s nominee for US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, on Sept. 11 outlined a four-pillar agenda—defence, trade, technology, and energy—telling senators that India is central to American strategy and regional stability.
“India is a strategic partner whose trajectory will shape the region and beyond,” he told members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee during his confirmation hearing. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, making a surprise appearance, endorsed his confirmation.
