Satnam Singh arrested for smuggling drugs in Canada
During the operation, border officials found 12 boxes containing 314 kg of methamphetamine from Singh's truck.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) arrested Satnam Singh, an Indian national, on drug smuggling charges at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon port of entry in British Columbia.
The incident, which took place in November, was made public by CBSA officials on Feb. 10. During the operation, border officials found 12 boxes containing 314 kg of methamphetamine concealed within the truck and trailer.
The interception marked the largest narcotics seizure to date at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon port of entry.

The CBSA arrested Singh, the truck’s driver, who was then transferred to the custody of the RCMP Federal Policing Pacific Region, Integrated Border Enforcement Team.
Nina Patel, the regional director general, Canada Border Services Agency, Pacific Region, hailed CBSA officials for the arrest and noted, “CBSA officers are working around the clock to ensure the security of Canada’s border.”
She added, “This is the largest narcotics seizure to date at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon port of entry. In partnership with the RCMP, we continue to put pressure on criminal networks, disrupt the flow of illegal drugs and keep dangerous individuals out of our communities.”
Singh has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of importation into Canada, and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
