“We conducted a comprehensive search for a director who would further strengthen our board’s breadth of talent and background, and we are delighted to have identified such an outstanding individual,” Amphenol chairman Martin Loeffler said in a statement.
“I am confident that Sanjiv will make a significant contribution to our board and the company,” he added. Lamba has served as CEO of Linde since 2022 and is set to become chairman of Linde’s board effective Jan. 31.
Amphenol president and chief executive officer R. Adam Norwitt said Lamba’s experience running a multinational manufacturing business and his international leadership background would be valuable as the company continues to expand its global operations.
“I have been extremely impressed by Amphenol’s innovative products, dynamic leadership team and unique entrepreneurial culture, and am honored to be joining the board,” Lamba said. “I look forward to working with them.”
Before becoming CEO of Linde, Lamba served as the company’s chief operating officer, overseeing its regional operations in the America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, along with several global business units and functions.
Earlier, he led Linde’s Asia-Pacific operations across nearly 20 countries. He joined the group in 2006 following Linde’s acquisition of BOC Group, where he had served as managing director for Process Gas Solutions in South and Southeast Asia. He began his career in 1989 with BOC India.
Lamba holds a bachelor of commerce degree from St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta, and is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
