Dr. Hari Bansh Jha is the Executive Director of the Centre for Economic and Technical Studies (CETS), Kathmandu, Nepal, a position he has held since 1989. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), New Delhi. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of the Policy Commission of Madhesh Province (2018–19) and as Professor of Economics at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Dr. Jha has been affiliated with several reputed institutions, including the Indian Council of World Affairs and the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (New Delhi), the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (Hamburg), and Fairleigh Dickinson University (New Jersey). His research interests encompass Nepal–India–China relations, Madhesh affairs, border management, trade, migration, and development policy. He has organized numerous national and international seminars and is the author or editor of thirty-three books on economics, governance, and regional affairs in South Asia.
