The Indo-American Community Federation (IACF), a nonprofit based in Fremont, California, hosted its 24th Annual Unity Dinner last week at the India Community Center.
This year’s event drew a record crowd of 360 attendees, with significant participation from Afghan, Afro, Chinese, Latina, Hispanic, and APAPA groups.

Indian dinner catered by Avanche Biryani was served to 23 elected officials, including California Attorney General Rob Bonta, who delivered the keynote address emphasizing technology’s power in uniting communities. Raj Salwan, Mayor, City of Fremont was also in attendance.
Guest speaker Major General (Ret.) Garrett Yee, and Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consul General of India, San Francisco, highlighted the Unity Dinner’s long-standing role in building bridges among diverse groups.
A conference on AI, moderated by cybersecurity expert Tasawar Jalali, explored "Unity in Diversity: Emerging Technology and its Role in Uniting Community”, featuring CEOs and the mayors of Santa Clara and Fremont.
The evening concluded with vibrant Chinese and Indian cultural performances and a Bollywood concert by New York-based singer Irfan Ali.
Founded in 1993 by Jeevan Zutshi, IACF aims to bring together Indo-Americans to address critical issues affecting the community. Its Unity Dinner series, started in the aftermath of 9/11 and first held in 2002, continues to be a leading platform for fostering multicultural engagement and dialogue.
