The Kashmiri Hindu community expresses deep alarm over President Donald Trump’s recent meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asif Munir, a known sympathizer of extremist networks. Pakistan’s long and well-documented history of sponsoring terrorism stands in direct conflict with America’s security interests and its stated opposition to global Islamic extremism.
The April 22 Pahalgam carnage, which claimed 26 lives, is the latest in a series of terror-linked tragedies traced back to Pakistan’s networks. The 2008 Mumbai attacks—planned and executed by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba—offered undeniable proof of the nation’s role in orchestrating mass violence. Even Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, was found living in Abbottabad, just steps away from a Pakistani army base.
India, much like Israel, acted within its sovereign right to target terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). Pakistan’s response—unprovoked shelling of civilian areas and military installations—only underscored its commitment to escalation rather than peace.
“It is shocking to see President Trump, who has been forthright in calling out Islamic terrorism, extend the hand of friendship to a military leader with such a record,”
“We have lived through the horrors of Islamist terror and warn that these terror snakes can and will bite the very hands that feed them.”
The community urges U.S. leadership to remain vigilant and to ensure that national security and counterterrorism principles are not compromised in diplomatic overtures.
