Student movements must align with national interest says Indian educationist

Prominent Indian educationist and academic administrator has emphasized that while universities should remain spaces for open debate and innovation, student movements must align with national interest and uphold discipline on campus.

Speaking to New India Abroad in Washington, D.C., Prof. D. P. Singh, Former Chairman of India’s University Grants Commission (UGC) said, “The openness of ideas, the discussions, and the debate —that too in a disciplined way—are always welcome on university campuses.”
