The evening will feature an outdoor yoga session, cultural performances, and a vibrant market offering Indian food, clothing, and wellness products. Dr. David Frawley, Padma Bhushan awardee and noted Vedic scholar, will be the guest of honor.

The City of Houston is also lending support, with an official celebration at Hermann Square on Saturday, June 14. Events will be held in parks, temples, community centers, and museums, including specialized sessions such as Chair Yoga by Swasth Yoga and a unique workshop on “Mindfulness & Medicine” by TedX speaker Dr. Nitin Ron on June 21 at the Hindu Temple of The Woodlands.

To begin the celebrations a first-ever three-day Ayurveda Yoga Camp was already hosted at the Texas Hindu Campsite by Yoga Kulam from May 30 – June 1. This immersive experience combined ancient healing traditions with yoga practice in a serene outdoor setting.

Celebrated globally since 2014 following its adoption by the United Nations, IDY continues to emphasize the role of yoga in promoting global health and unity. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects its growing significance in personal and community wellness.
