Kicking off Pride Month, Indian American singer-songwriter Lisa Mishra has released a new single and music video titled Teri Hoon. The track is a tender tribute to queer love, written as a love letter from one woman to another.
Inspired by her experience playing a queer character Niki on Netflix’s The Royals, Mishra felt the emotions she portrayed on screen deserved a musical space of their own. Teri Hoon gives voice to that love, blending raw lyricism with a soft, stripped-back melody.
The visuals, shot by cinematographer Anuj Samtani, mirror the song’s emotional intimacy. With soft lighting and minimalistic frames, the video creates the feel of a private confession.
In an Instagram post, Mishra revealed that the project overcame several hurdles, including injuries and organizational delays. Ultimately choosing to release the track independently and self-fund it Teri Hoon marks a deeply personal milestone in Mishra’s career.
Mishra rose to fame in 2018 with her rendition of Tareefan from Veere Di Wedding. She has since continued to build a dedicated fan base with her music and acting work.
