Indian-American entrepreneur and beauty expert Shalini Vadhera is set to launch her skincare brand Ready Set Jet into space.

The brand’s signature products, Beauty Batons, will be part of the Axiom-4 Space Mission aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket scheduled for liftoff on June 8, making it the first certified skincare brand approved for space travel.

During the 16-day research mission, the products will undergo testing in microgravity and radiation conditions. Upon return, they will be evaluated to receive certification as space-flown items, marking the debut of the world's first space-certified beauty collection.

Vadhera, a former Hollywood celebrity makeup artist and founder of Passport to Beauty, emphasized that this innovation is grounded in over two decades of experience with global and Asian beauty rituals. The brand’s waterless, hydrating formulations are designed for extreme environments and have undergone rigorous testing with scientists, flight specialists, and aerospace engineers.

“With increasing demand for climate-adaptive, high-performance skincare, Ready Set Jet is positioning itself as a category-defining leader in extreme environment beauty innovation, taking deep R&D around global beauty rituals and ancient wisdom and validating it in space,” she said.

Vadhera views this mission as a convergence of biotechnology, space science, and wellness, setting the stage for a new category of skincare products for high-performance lifestyles. Key collaborators in this initiative include Axiom Space, BlackStar Orbital, Herndon Solutions Group, AstroCertify, and Australia-based Space Angel.

To commemorate the mission, a limited-edition Space Box will be released in partnership with BlackStar Orbital. Further sub-orbital testing is also planned. Vadhera expressed her excitement about leveraging the data collected from the mission to develop next-generation skincare, potentially using space-derived ingredients such as crystals and titanium dioxide.

Vadhera’s inclusive brand is backed by a coalition of over 95 percent female and BIPOC investors.

The upcoming mission to the International Space Station (ISS) will include Indian astronaut group captain Shubhanshu Shukla and veteran commander Peggy Whitson.
