A fast-escalating feud between President Donald Trump and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk promoted reactions from Indian Americans online.
Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) tweeted a satirical breakup guide from wikiHow, captioned, “@elonmusk happy to send you the link,” implying Musk might need emotional support following his split with Trump.

Venture capitalist Vinod Khosla took a more measured approach, tweeting, “Despite our differences, I admire your speaking up on the deficit!”
Other Indian American officials used the moment to spotlight serious policy issues.
Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA), referencing Musk’s Epstein claim, said, “Thanks for the tip, Elon Musk.” He also shared a letter to US Attorney General Pam Bondi demanding the immediate release of the Epstein files. “This allegation raises serious questions about President Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein,” he wrote, calling for transparency and accountability.
Thanks for the tip, @elonmusk.

Congressman Ami Bera (CA-06) warned against being distracted by the spectacle. “Don’t let Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Twitter war distract you from what’s at stake: 16 million people will lose their health care if Trump’s ‘beautiful’ bill gets to his desk,” he said.
In a video statement, Bera added, “This big, beautiful bill—or what I might call a big, ugly bill—may actually cause 16 million Americans to lose their health insurance… We see a lot of chaos with Donald Trump and Elon Musk fighting in their little Twitter war. Don't get distracted.”

Rep. Shri Thanedar (MI-13) welcomed Musk to “Team Impeach Trump” and echoed calls for the Epstein files to be released. “I’m calling on Pam Bondi to immediately release the Epstein files and inform the public of whether or not Donald Trump is listed,” he said.

Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) added a sharp rebuke, stating “Donald Trump and Elon Musk getting into a messy, public fight because of their giant egos is really embarrassing.”
“But you know what the craziest thing about it is? Republicans still want to rip health care away from 16 million Americans so the rich can get a tax break,” she added.

Congressman Ro Khanna joined the conversation with a wry remark: “The big question is who gets custody of @JDVance in the @elonmusk @realDonaldTrump divorce?”
The fallout began after Trump lashed out at Musk over his criticism of a Republican-backed tax and spending bill, dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Musk denounced the legislation for gutting clean energy incentives, including subsidies for electric vehicles, while preserving tax breaks for fossil fuels.
Trump responded by threatening to pull billions in federal contracts and subsidies from Musk’s companies, Tesla and SpaceX. The clash intensified when Musk alleged that Trump’s name appears in sealed Jeffrey Epstein files, suggesting the documents had not been released due to political interference.
The Trump–Musk feud has had real-world economic fallout. Tesla’s stock dropped approximately 14 to 15 percent—wiping out nearly $20 billion in value—while Trump Media and associated cryptocurrency assets also took a hit.
