Indian American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi expressed his deepest condolences over the Air India crash in Ahmedabad and called for a full investigation into the tragic incident.
“I am heartbroken by today’s Air India crash in Ahmedabad and want to express my deepest condolences to all those around the world touched by this tragedy,” Krishnamoorthi said. A London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 on board crashed soon after takeoff from Ahmedabad.

“There must be a full investigation to provide answers and prevent such tragedies from happening again,” Krishnamoorthi said. The American company Boeing is the manufacturer of the plane. 787-8 Dreamliner, one of the most modern passenger aircraft in service.
Boeing said it is in contact with Air India regarding Flight 171 and stands ready to support them. “Our thoughts are with the passengers, crew, first responders, and all affected,” it said.
Jagdip Ahluwalia, founding secretary, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) expressed shock over the tragic plane crash.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Air India flight during takeoff in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with the families of the victims, the citizens of Ahmedabad, and all those affected by this devastating event. Through the Consulate General of India in Houston, I extend my sincere condolences to the Government and the people of India—my homeland—during this time of profound loss,” said Jagdip Ahluwalia, founding secretary, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH).
“This tragedy resonates deeply with me, as I had the privilege of visiting Ahmedabad late last year to engage with local business leaders as part of our continued efforts to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Houston and Gujarat. During that visit, I was warmly hosted by Mr. T.P.S. Oberoi, Chairman of IACC Ahmedabad, and attended a dynamic networking session that reflected the region’s remarkable energy and entrepreneurial spirit,” Ahluwalia said.
