Manohar Singh, the 12th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO), has extended his greetings to the campus community as he prepares to assume office on July 1.
In a video message, chancellor-designate Singh expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome he has received and affirmed his commitment to delivering the high-quality education and experiences that make UWO graduates stand out in the workforce.

“As soon as I visited the campus, I knew this was a place where I would want to be,” Singh said, highlighting UWO’s faculty as “world-class scholars and teachers,” and its staff as colleagues “completely dedicated to student success.”
Singh praised UW Oshkosh as a hub of academic excellence and community integration, describing it as a “complete package” that plays a critical role in building strong communities and educating future leaders. He noted the university’s seamless connection with the Fox Valley—a region he called “economically thriving, prosperous, welcoming,” and grounded in “positive harmony.”
Encouraging prospective students, Singh emphasized that UWO offers not only a picturesque setting on the banks of the Fox River but also a robust network that ensures a smooth and successful transition from college to career. “Your journey from college to your profession will be seamless, successful, and enjoyable,” he said.
“I’m very proud to be coming to UWO and be part of the family,” Singh concluded. “And I welcome you to be part of our family too.”
Singh’s appointment was unanimously approved by the board following a recommendation from a search committee that included regents, faculty, staff, and community members last month.
