GTA (Grand Theft Auto) 6, by Rockstar games, will have an entire location created by Rockstar India, as per media reports.
Rockstar’s India wing, set up in Bengaluru, has undertaken the creation of ‘Vice Beach’, a city within the larger GTA 6 map.
Unlike previous assignments in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar India would not be playing a supporting role but would be leading the design and construction of an entire city in the highly anticipated sixth part of the GTA franchise.
Rockstar India’s growing stature is further highlighted through its overall contributions to its biggest venture so far. With a third of the 6,000 software developers working on GTA 6 being Indians, it opens new avenues for the Indian gaming sector.
Established in Aug. 2016, Rockstar Interactive India is led by studio director Daniel Smith. It absorbed Dhruva Interactive, India's oldest game developer, in May 2019, thereby strengthening its capacity to contribute towards Rockstar’s plans.
Rockstar games has announced that GTA 6 would be released on May 26, 2026.
