Dances with Films to screen ‘Designed by Preeti’ in LA

The 28th annual 'Dances with Films' festival, will feature ‘Designed by Preeti’, written and produced by Silicon Valley resident Rashmi Rustagi. The screening will take place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in LA on Jun 26, 2025, at 7:15 p.m.
Designed by Preeti, a project showcasing the creative vision of its namesake, Preeti, is generating buzz within the independent film community. It is a compelling romantic drama about Preeti Kumar, a resilient middle-aged woman who seeks to escape an oppressive and unfaithful marriage.
The film is part of Dances with Films’ diverse lineup, known for championing innovative and unflinching storytelling from emerging talent. The festival, now in its 28th year, prides itself on celebrating the “sweat equity” of independent filmmakers, with alumni achieving success in major films, television series, and even earning Oscar nominations. It was started in 1998 by a group of filmmakers who envisioned a festival where “who you know” didn’t matter, only the quality of the work mattered.
Tickets for the screening are priced at $20 until June 18, 2025, and will increase to $24 thereafter. Tickets can be purchased online at the festival’s official ticketing site (www.danceswithfilms.com).
Previously, Designed by Preeti was screened at the prestigious South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (SAFFM) in April 2025.
