French multinational information technology (IT) services company Capgemini, and Japan-based mutual life insurance company, Dai-ichi Life Holdings, have entered a multi-year strategic partnership to establish a Global Capability Center (GCC) in India.

The GCC will serve as a critical hub for enhancing Dai-ichi Life’s internal technology capabilities by leveraging India’s robust talent pool. Through a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, Dai-ichi will enhance in-house expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, software development, and cybersecurity. The GCC is intended to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and accelerate the delivery of digital solutions across the company’s global footprint.

Tetsuya Kikuta, president and CEO of Dai-ichi, emphasized the partnership's strategic significance. “By adopting a Build-Operate-Transfer model, we are not only accelerating our digital transformation but also laying the foundation for in-house expertise in critical areas such as AI, data, and cybersecurity.”

Capgemini will contribute its extensive global experience and technology transformation capabilities, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, highlighted the shared vision. “By combining Dai-ichi Life’s deep industry knowledge with Capgemini’s global business and technology transformation expertise, including our proven ability to deliver complex solutions, our partnership will help unlock new value for the Dai-ichi Life Group and set new benchmarks in customer service and operational efficiency.”

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the evolution of global insurance operations, positioning the Dai-ichi Life Group to meet rising consumer expectations through innovation and digital excellence, the firm said.
