A digital billboard in California’s Bay Area is drawing attention with a pointed message linking Pakistan to terrorism, following the recent killing of 26 Hindu men in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Located near the San Mateo Bridge, the display is part of a public awareness campaign by the United Hindu Council (UHC), a U.S.-based nonprofit. The organization says the initiative aims to highlight the ‘religiously targeted nature’ of the April attack, carried out by Pakistan-based terrorists.

One of the rotating billboard messages reads, “India stands for Humanity and Pakistan for Terrorism. Do not equate a terror-sponsoring state like Pakistan, which harbored Osama Bin Laden, with India—the world’s largest and most diverse democracy.”

Another poses the question: “The victims in Pahalgam were killed because they were Hindus, so does terrorism have a religion?”

The campaign directs viewers to www.PakistanTerrorism.com, a website that documents the Pahalgam killings and offers a historical overview of violence against Kashmiri Hindus.

“The global silence on the targeting of Hindus in Kashmir is unacceptable,” the UHC said in a statement. “We will not let the memory of those killed in Pahalgam be erased by propaganda or political expediency.”

The group urged Indian-American organizations, policymakers, human rights advocates, and media outlets to engage with the issue and recognize what it describes as a long-standing pattern of targeted violence that has received limited international scrutiny.

The United Hindu Council describes itself as an organization focused on raising awareness about Hindu values and addressing challenges faced by Hindu communities worldwide.
