Aruna Verma appointed to UK’s national records advisory board

Verma currently serves as Campus Dean at The University of Law, Moorgate, where she also teaches as an associate professor.

Aruna Verma, a lawyer and academic leader, has been appointed to the Advisory Council on National Records and Archives (ACNRA), the UK government announced. Her four-year term will run from Mar.10, 2025, to Mar.9, 2029.

Verma is one of six new members named to the board by the UK Secretary of State. The ACNRA advises the Secretary of State on issues related to public records, including decisions about historical government records and public access.

Verma currently serves as Campus Dean at The University of Law, Moorgate, where she also teaches as an associate professor. She has built her career at the intersection of legal practice, education, and leadership. At the university, she oversees academic programmes and student engagement, and works closely with legal professionals to prepare students for careers in the law.

Outside of her academic role, Verma is active in several public and professional capacities. She sits as a Chair at The Valuation Tribunal and serves as Chair of Governors at a local school. She is also a trained mediator and specialist in online dispute resolution.

Verma is recognized for her contributions to legal scholarship and her advocacy for diversity in the legal profession.
