Trump Hosts Pakistan Army Chief at White House, Says They Agree on Iran

Trump said he was thankful to both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and General Munir for their commitment to peace.

In a rare diplomatic gesture, US President Donald Trump hosted Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, for a luncheon at the White House on June 18, stating afterwards that Munir agreed with him on the threat posed by Iran.

“They know Iran very well, better than most. They’re not happy with what’s happening,” Trump told reporters, referring to Pakistan’s military leadership. “He agreed with me,” he added, alluding to the escalating Israel-Iran tensions, which could draw in the United States.
