ICE arrests Indian national after deadly Florida truck crash

Harneet Singh had previously been encountered by U.S. Border Patrol on May 15, 2023, but was released into the community under federal immigration policy.

Federal authorities have arrested Harneet Singh, 25, an Indian national in the US illegally, following a deadly crash on the Florida Turnpike that killed three people.

Singh was a passenger in an 18-wheeler driven by his brother, Harjinder Singh, who now faces three counts of vehicular homicide. The crash occurred on August 12, 2025, when Harjinder Singh attempted an illegal U-turn through an “Official Use Only” access point, blocking multiple lanes and triggering a catastrophic collision
