With a clear call to ignite a love for books, Second Lady Usha Vance brought her nationwide Summer Reading Challenge to Cherokee Classical Academy in Georgia on Aug. 22, reminding students that “reading opens doors” to both opportunity and imagination.

Vance’s Summer Reading Challenge has been rolling out across the country with a simple but ambitious goal: make reading fun, accessible, and a daily habit for children of all ages. By bringing the campaign to Canton, Georgia, she underscored the initiative’s focus on community-based events that connect directly with students, parents, and educators.
