The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) has announced the results of its 2025-26 leadership elections.
The elections, held in a transparent and democratic manner, concluded with the official results released on April 12, 2025.

The new team led by Amit Chakrabarty will have Krishan Kumar as vice president while Seema Arora and Soumya Neravetla will serve as secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Notably, Neravetla is the first-ever second-generation Indian American physician elected as treasurer. Hetal Gor has been chosen as chair-elect of the board of trustees, with Anjali Gulati, Sunitha Polepalle, and Srini Gokarakonda joining as new board of trustee members.
The uncontested regional director positions were filled across multiple regions, while contests remain open in the Pacific and Mountain regions.
AAPI president Dr. Satheesh Kathula and chief election officer Dr. Lokesh Edara praised the fairness of the election process and thanked all participants. Expressing gratitude, the newly elected leaders pledged to work collaboratively to further AAPI’s mission in healthcare advocacy, education, and service both in the U.S. and India.
Founded in 1982, AAPI represents over 125,000 Indian American physicians and serves as a key player in U.S. healthcare.
