Ahead of the 2024 presidential elections, South Asians for Biden, a national volunteer organization will launch its campaign to re-elect President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to the White House on Apr.25.

The campaign, that aims to attract and engage voters from the South Asian and Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community, will be launched virtually in an event featuring a lineup of 25 national and regional speakers, including Biden Administration officials, politicians and community leaders and advocates.

Some of the prominent Indian American participants include Reps. Pramila Jayapal and Ro Khanna, White House Policy Advisor to President Biden, Neera Tanden, Mayor of Hoboken, NJ, Ravinder Bhalla, Ohio State Representative Anita Somani among others.

In 2020, South Asians for Biden mobilized  hundreds of thousands of AAPI and South Asian voters in key states, where President Biden won by a margin of 313,000 votes, the campaign said in a statement. “In 2020 South Asian voters were the margin of victory and with your support, we  will once again become the key voting bloc that shapes electoral outcomes for future generations,” the statement added.

“The outcome of this most consequential Presidential election will determine whether we elect a former President who has vowed to suspend political liberties on day one and institute a National Abortion Ban, Immigrant Bans, Anti LGBTQ+ Policies, Voting Rights Suppression and so much more or we r-elect  President Biden and VP Harris who have instituted historic policies uplifting AAPI and South Asian communities nationwide on issues ranging from reproductive freedom to gun violence,” the campaign’s statement further read.
