The Indian junior women’s hockey team created history by defeating the Republic of Korea 2-1 in the final of the 2023 Women’s Junior Asia Cup tournament in Kakamigahara, Japan on June 11, 2023 and winning its first ever Women’s Junior Asia Cup title.
In an attacking match, striker Annu converted a penalty stroke in the second quarter into a goal for India. However, in a short time, Korea equalized by scoring a field goal. In the third quarter, Neelam converted a penalty corner into a goal, putting India in the lead once again.
