Prashant Doshi, an Indian-origin professor with over two decades of experience in artificial intelligence, has been named the inaugural executive director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IAI) at the University of Georgia. His appointment follows a national search and marks a significant step in UGA’s plan to expand interdisciplinary AI research and education.
Doshi, a faculty member in the School of Computing, has served as IAI’s interim associate director for research since August 2024. In his new role, he will oversee the institute’s academic programs, research, and service initiatives.
