NJ State AAPI celebrates fathers day

The event also included the passing of the gavel from President Sudha Nahar to the incoming President Raj Bhayani.

The New Jersey chapter of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) hosted a multifaceted Father’s Day celebration at the Imperia, Somerset, on June 18. 

The event drew approximately 100 physicians and their families, including notable community leaders Sudhir and Sudha Parikh. Attendees participated in the celebration dressed in colorful traditional attire, receiving commemorative “World’s Best Dad” pins. 

The evening began with a focused session on estate and tax planning tailored for physicians, led by the Wall Street Alliance Group vice president Johan Vako and APMA Kamal Singh. The speakers offered practical insights into long-term financial planning and asset management.

The event also marked the formal leadership handover within the organization. Outgoing president Sudha Nahar, alongside chair of the board of trustees Rachana Kulkarni, acknowledged the dedication of the current executive committee and board of trustees. 

Nahar passed the ceremonial gavel to incoming president Raj Bhayani, who delivered an acceptance speech emphasizing the importance of expanding membership and strengthening collective advocacy.

In a gesture of appreciation and community support, NJ AAPI presented a donation to RWJUH/Somerset Health Care Foundation, recognizing their Indian medical program and long-tanding partnership.

The celebration was supported by Andre Sigismondo of WSAG.
