Warner Bros. Pictures has officially scheduled the upcoming supernatural romantic thriller, ‘Remain’, by M. Night Shyamalan, for release in October 2026, according to Deadline.
The movie features Jake Gyllenhaal in the leading role. The story is co-created by Shyamalan and global-bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks. Phoebe Dynevor and Ashley Walters are also set to star.
While Puducherry-born Shyamalan writes the screenplay for his movie, Sparks would be writing a novel based on the same love story. The novel, also titled Remain, will hit store shelves on Oct. 7, 2025, as per Deadline.
Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan are producing the movie through Blinding Edge Pictures, alongside Marc Bienstock and Sparks’ longtime producing partner Theresa Park. With Sparks as the executive producer, Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures will produce the film.
Shyamalan has previously partnered with Universal to create major hits like Split, Glass, Old and Knock at the Cabin. He went over to Warner Bros to release Trap last summer which grossed close to $84M at the worldwide box office.
M. Night Shyamalan, born Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan on August 6, 1970, in Mahé, India, was raised in Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, after his family moved to the U.S. when he was six weeks old. He is known for making movies with contemporary supernatural plots.
