Indian scholar nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize for averting nuclear catastrophe

Phadnis stated that domestic political compulsions do not allow Indian leadership to officially acknowledge the crucial role of President Trump in preventing an escalation of the conflict.

An Indian scholar has nominated American President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 for brokering a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan on May 10, 2025, thereby averting what could have been a nuclear catastrophe.

Prof. Pankaj K Phadnis, who is associated with Indian and US Universities in an academic capacity in the project “Education Without Boundaries” said the “hysteria of war had gripped both the nations (India and Pakistan). Each called for the blood of the other and an open-ended  escalation was on the cards.”
