Indian-origin teen selected for U.S. State Dept. Korea program

The NSLI-Y program, launched in 2006, is part of a broader U.S. government effort to expand the number of young Americans with critical language skills.

Vedika Chamaria, a high school student of Indian origin from McKinney, Texas, has been selected for the U.S. Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program. 

She is one of 440 students chosen from thousands of applicants across the country to receive the competitive scholarship.
