Indian Christian Day will be celebrated in the Tri-State area on June 29 at St. Vincent Depaul Syro-Malankara Cathedral, New York.

The event would witness a celebration of the diversity of Christians through songs and worship.

Also known as Yeshu Bhakti Divas, Indian Christian Day seeks to celebrate the message of Jesus Christ. This day also serves as a tribute to the contributions made by Indian followers of Jesus to the development and progress of the nation.

The celebration is closely associated with Saint Thomas Day on July 3,  the day celebrating Thomas the Apostle, who brought the Gospel of Jesus Christ to India in 52 AD.

Varghese Abraham, Chief Coordinator of the event, highlighted the inclusive nature of the celebration and said, "We, as followers of Jesus, can preserve our identity within India's cultural heritage while uniting with all those who wish to celebrate it, irrespective of language, custom, creed, region, or religion"
