Yale’s Snigdha Jain honored for ICU diagnosis work

Originally trained at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jain completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa.

Snigdha Jain, MD, MHS, assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, has been named a 2025 Scholar in Diagnostic Excellence by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), recognizing her efforts to improve diagnostic approaches in intensive care units.

Jain, who specializes in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine, is one of two Yale faculty members selected for the national honor. The NAM program supports clinicians and researchers working to reduce diagnostic errors and improve equity and accuracy in medical diagnosis. Scholars receive mentorship, funding, and support to lead projects addressing systemic gaps in diagnostic care.
