The South Asian Impact Foundation commemorated Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, highlighting the community’s contributions and the need for continued advocacy.

“With over 6 million South Asians in the United States, we are proud to be one of the fastest-growing communities in the country,” executive director, Chintan Patel said. He emphasized the importance of honoring stories of migration, resilience, and selfless sacrifice that have shaped both the South Asian community and the broader American narrative.

In his statement, Patel also acknowledged the challenges still facing communities of color, citing the rise in hate and division. “The fight for equity and belonging is far from over,” he added, calling on communities to recommit to justice and inclusion.

To commemorate the month, the Foundation announced two key initiatives. Desi Dialogues, a new series of virtual gatherings and town halls, aims to bring together South Asians across the country to engage in meaningful conversation and connection and Immigrants Who Impact , a campaign which spotlights stories of South Asian immigrants who are shaping America’s future.

The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside other Asian American and communities of color to dismantle systemic racism and build a multiracial democracy. “Our shared histories and futures are deeply connected,” Patel said.

The South Asian Impact Foundation continues to be a driving force for representation, equity, and community empowerment nationwide.
